Saturday, July 14th - Sarah Dashew
Sarah was our first concert at the Birdhouse.  This performance was amazing!  It reaffirmed our belief that great music in the Birdroom is meant to be.  Sarah is incredibly talented.  This will forever be our favorite concert.  The only pictures are misplaced and hopefully will surface soon.  We will post them when we find them.  (http://www.sarahdashew.com)

Friday, September 14th - Berkley Hart
Berkley Hart entertained us with their wit, humor, and musical brilliance.  Everyone had a great time at this show and someone took pictures to prove it.  But we don't have them yet.  Don't ever miss an opportunity to see this amazing duo.  We hope to have them back again. (http://www.berkleyhart.com)

Friday, Sept. 28th - Nina Gerber and Kenny Edwards
Two of the most remarkable musicians you could ever hope to see.  The show was a sellout but we had some no shows as a result of a torrential down pour.  Our concerts are 'rain or shine' and the road is open year-round.  The rain dissipated and we had a fire in the fire pit.

Saturday, October 27th - The Solid Air band performed at our first annual Halloween Masquerade Ball.  The music was exceptional and the costumes were incredible.  Everyone dressed in full costume and that made dancing and visiting fun and exciting.  Allegra says that she would be willing to come and play a Mardi Gras concert with a Zydeco band in June.  We will plan to have a Zydeco dance lesson the weekend before the show.  Looking forward to that.  (http://www.solidairmusic.com)

Saturday, December 1st - Johnsmith
John played the first house concert that we saw at Kevin's Barn.  That show inspired us to create the Birdhouse Acoustic Concert Series.  His heart felt lyrical expression and raw musical talent touched our souls in a way that left us feeling both as 'one' with nature and at peace with the world.  Once again we had an incredible show on December 1st at the Birdhouse.  You can catch John's shows anywhere in the country (and occasionally in Europe).  He also teaches singer/songwriter workshops.

Friday, January 18th - Craig Carothers
Winner of the 2006 Mountain Stage New Song Contest in which 2500 contestants competed for the championship, Craig has been sharing his musical talent with audiences worldwide for more than 20 years.  He is also the winner of the Napa Valley Songwriter Showcase contest and Austin's Songwriter Contest.  You may have heard his songs on original film soundtracks or on the recordings of other musicians such as Trisha Yearwood.  His humor, wit, musicianship, and heartfelt lyrics entertained us late into the night.  He made us laugh, he made us cry; and we loved every minute of it.

Friday, February 1st - Artie Traum
Artie
was a world renowned folk, jazz, blues guitarist and songwriter.  His roots dated back to the 60's and 70's musical renaissance in which he either performed, recorded or toured with: David Grissman, John Sabastian, Dylan, Pete Seeger, Peter Paul and Mary, and The Band; just to name a few.  Pete Seeger described Traum as "man with golden fingers".  This concert was incredible.  Artie was fun and funny and entertaining. Unfortunately, Artie passed away last summer.  He will be sorely missed.  (http://www.artietraum.com)

Friday, February 29th - "Swami Beyondananda"
The 29th of February is a leap day; a day you didn't even know you had.  If you were born on this day you would only be about 12 years old.  What better way to spend this quirky day than with an irreverently uplifting cosmic comic/political satirist; Swami Beyondananda.  Winner of the irony man competition, Swami is an internationally famous author, humorist, and workshop leader.  He is the author of a nationally syndicated spoof advice column and several books including: Driving Your Own Karma, When You See a Sacred Cow, Milk It For All It's Worth, Duck Soup for the Soul, and his latest Swami for Precedent.  He has graciously agreed to share his magnificence with us for an evening of light-hearted comedy and fun. (http://www.wakeuplaughing.com)

Friday, October 17th - Sally Barris
Sally is a singer songwriter from Nashville sang sensitive melodies with brilliant lyrics to another appreciative audience to open our second season series in style.  She has an adorable personality and angelic voice that wins the appreciation of anyone lucky enough to hear her.  We hope to have her back soon.  (http://www.sallybarris.com)

Saturday, November 15th - Berkley/Hart
Jeff and Calman are an amazing harmony singin', joke tellin', guitar pickin', folk duo.  Last year these guys were so humorous, entertaining, and talented that we asked them back again this year.  Once again, they really put on a great performance.  Everyone had a lot of fun.  If you missed them, then do yourself a favor and pick up one of their CD's.

Saturday, December 13th - Paul Kamm & Eleanor MacDonald w/Nina Gerber
Paul and Eleanor have been performing original contemporary folk music together for about 25 years.  You may have seen them at large festivals including Strawberry, Kerrville, and Kate Wolf.  Since 1987 they have released 8 critically acclaimed CD's!  We were fortunate this season to have Nina Gerber joining us for this show, which was a sellout.  Nina is one of the premier touring musicians of our day, we were inspired by her artfully expressive precision.  We were thrilled to have them together at the Birdhouse and it was an incredible performance.

Friday, February 27th - Swami Beyondananda
Swami is a world renowned cosmic comic.  He played to a full birdhouse last year and he was so funny, insightful, and entertaining that we couldn't wait to have him back again this season.  Swami presented a prepared performance followed by a Q&A session after a short break.  We had a great time visiting and laughing.  (http://www.wakeuplaughing.com)

September 20th - Laura Love and Orville Johnson
Laura Love has been a favorite performer at concerts and music festivals for many years so it goes without saying that she is a vivacious, exciting, and entertaining performer.  Her personality emanates through her music and moves all that have the privilege and enjoyment of the experience.  She is joined on this occasion by a seasoned veteran in his own right, Orville Johnson.  You may have heard him playing guitar and dobro on Garrison Keilor's Prairie Home Companion or on over 200 CD's.  Together, Laura and Orville are celebrating the completion of a new CD.  They had us on our feet begging to play more!  We hope to have them back in 2010.   (www.lauralove.net)  (www.orvillejohnson.com)

October 1st - Elyza Gilkyson
What an unbelievable opportunity this was to hear one of the best touring singer/songwriters in the country in this intimate venue.  While currently residing in Austin, Texas; Eliza still manages to share her georgeous melodies and heartfelt lyrics at live performances in concerts and festivals throughout the world.  Her 17 CD's include artists like Andreas Vollenweider, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Patty Griffin, and Bonnie Raitt.  We were fortunate to have arranged to have this amazing performance at the Birdhouse!  (www.elizagilkyson.com)

October 30th - Mumbo Gumbo
Our Halloween Bash was a day early and was phenomenal !!!  It was a full costume, dance party featuring the music of some of the greatest avant-garde artists around; Mumbo Gumbo.  Their music can be described and electric/acoustic jam band, afro-beat, rock, reggae, soul, zydeco, country, or indie music played by seven members on a wide variety of instruments.  They describe their sound as "less a specific style, than a particular feeling".  We experienced a dance show that noone will ever forget.   (www.mumbogumbo.com)

Friday, December 18th - Nina and Chris Webster
We were honored to have back one of our favorite performers; Nina Gerber, with newcomer Chris Webster.  This was a rare appearance for the duo, so it was an amazing performance that naturally inspired the improvisational interaction of pure genius.  We were privileged to experience this unique event and are grateful for those who took the initiative to attend.  (www.ninagerber.com) (www.chriswebstermusic.com)

Saturday, January 23rd - Dana Hubbard
Dana is the Winner of the 2009 Independent International Songwriter's Competition and Winner of the 2009 Telluride Blues and Brews Festival Acoustic Blues Competition in which he opened with headliners Bonnie Raitt, Taj Mahal, Ruthie Foster, Buddy Guy and Joe Cocker.  What Dana does with the guitar, using only his hands is amazing to watch and a joy to listen to.  You hear the bass and the back beat rhythm along with the melody and chords.  If you look around for his backup guitar, you won't find one.  This is Dana, performing solo.  On his latest CD "The Grounds Keepers" each track is a single guitar performance with no overdubs, no re-makes.  What you hear is a singer/songwriter front and center, addressing issues of environmentalism and social injustice in a voice that sometimes growls, sometimes he lilts or laughs, but he's always got a little twinkle in his eye.  He has a social activist soul with a bluesman's grin.   We really loved this show!  (www.danahubbard.com)

Sunday, February 14th - Valentines Day Jazz Social
It was an intimate evening at the Birdroom featuring one of the most amazing jazz duos; Christine and Shigemi.  Potluck dinner, candles, pleasant company, and jazz.  We had surprise guest performers to entertain us all.  One of the best Valentines Day ever!

Saturday, March 20th - Ma Muse We celebrated the first day of spring with Ma Muse. "The dynamic and genuine following of fans know Ma music is soul music. From the first verse, everyone seems ready to return, and ready to celebrate."  Everyone was inspired by the lyrical, harmonic, and musical tapestry of this amazing local duo.  As stated best on their website; Ma Muse plays "roots music that bonds strangers, draws loved ones close, suspends applause, and lifts a house to its feet."  This was our biggest crowd too date.  They keep getting bigger and better!  (http://www.mamuse.org)
